Tesla owners who are also proud owners of iPhones can now make use of Siri in triggering Apple Shortcuts automation without needing to turn to paid third-party apps such as Tessie to do so. The newest update of the Tesla app, version 4.24.0, has dropped with a release note stating that “Access your vehicle controls and climate from the Apple Shortcuts app.”

How to Use Siri with Shortcuts

In order to use Siri with Shortcuts, all you have to do is simply invoke the digital assistant of Apple and then say the name of your automation. It is quite a little clunkier than actual Siri integration, simply because in order to trigger Shortcuts automation, you will have to memorize the names that you have given them and then repeat them verbatim, but it is probably the best Tesla owners will get, well, at least for now.

Shortcuts support still, is a little undersold in the release notes. You can reportedly make use of Shortcuts in controlling various modes such as Dog Mode or Bioweapon Defense Mode and you can also close all the windows in question, adjust media volume, open your frunk, or even get to set a charge limit — all making use of your voice (after it is that you have set up automations in the Shortcuts app).

The Full List of Support

That said, here is the full list, from Not a Tesla App:
