Google Password Manager Now on Android Home Screen
Just as spotted by the 9to5Google, Users would now be able to add a new shortcut for the Google Password Manager tool directly into their device’s home screen.
And just as the name suggested, this password manager service would be able to keep track of all your login information in just one safe and secure location, and now Android users can access it straight from their home screen.
Android Password Manager
The Google Password manager tool is not a new feature to Android users, seeing as it has been available to them for years. And it has been a part of the chrome browser and in a user’s Google web account.
This new feature would allow users to access their saved data by making use of their existing biometrics or screen lock security protection right on their device, as opposed to entering a password as is the case with the version on the web.
The password manager is created to save and store all the details, including usernames and Passwords, which allows you to keep track of any issues or security risks, as well as enables users to modify any details where required.
How to Enable Android Password Manager
The shortcut would be available after downloading the latest Google Play Services update, which should now be available as a default for android users.
Once you are done with that, you can access the Password Manager by launching Settings > Privacy > Autofill service from Google > Passwords.
This page includes an option to add a shortcut to your home screen, this would open a menu with the shortcut, that would be dragged wherever you want to place it on your home screen.
This news comes shortly after Google included the ability for you to store notes alongside your password, with a new “Notes” Field right under the username and password when you go to edit an existing password.
