In a stride towards advancing sustainable development and fostering awareness about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), AIIDEV Africa has introduced Cohort 3 of the Teach4SDGs programme.
This 12-week intensive training initiative aims to empower primary and secondary school educators by delving into advanced workshops, lectures, readings, and practical projects centred around the 17 SDGs and related themes.
Teach4SDGs Programme 2024 – Details
The Teach4SDGs programme covers the 17 SDGs and their targets, addressing vital areas like Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Climate Change, Project Management, Environmental Sustainability, Technology, Green Economy, Circular Economy, Sustainable Waste Management, and Innovation for Educators.
The primary goal is to equip teachers with the necessary resources to seamlessly integrate SDGs into the existing curriculum. This integration is a strategic move to promote sustainable development, heighten awareness, and instigate action towards achieving the SDGs.

Eligibility Criteria for Teach4SDGs Programme 2024
- The programme welcomes applications from primary and secondary school teachers in both public and private schools across Sub-Saharan African countries.
- Applicants need to commit at least 4 hours on 2 days per week throughout the training programme.
- Prospective Candidates must be within the required age; 20 – 45 years.
- All sessions will be conducted in English, and participants must have adequate knowledge of the language.
- Applicants must be available for virtual training and SDGs activation in their respective schools.
- An interest in being a transformative agent promoting student learning about the SDGs is essential.
- Applicants are not required to be familiar with the SDGs 2030 beforehand.

- Complete and submit the application form before the deadline on December 24, 2023, at 10:00 PM WAT.

- All successfully selected applicants will commence the 12-week intensive training and activation programme starting on January 8, 2024.
