Sonic Origins Remasters Four Sega Classics and it would be launching soon. The great news here for that fan of retro games is that Sonic the Hedgehog is back, and it came back in style. The upcoming release of sonic origins has been announced, a game that contains four remastered games all in one package:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and
- Sonic CD
Set to hit the shelves on a wide array of platforms starting June 23, 2022, sonic origins offer all of the nostalgia in a neatly refreshed singular title complete with some new additions to the comeback a lot better. The 23rd of June is a strategic date in the franchise, as the first game was released on June 23, 1991. This makes Sonic Origins a present for the protagonist’s 31st birthday.
Sonic Origins Remasters Four Sega Classics
SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog announced that it would be coming back once more in a fun and colorful Youtube video as well as on their Twitter account. All the information concerning the upcoming game also can be found on the official website. Whether you have played the original Sonics yourself or you have never even heard of them, it is an opinion that is being shared by a lot of people that the games are a real classic, and tons of older gamers have a nostalgia for the fierce little hedgehog and his friends. Well, that would explain why a second Sonic movie was released earlier this year.
This game would be made available across all consoles including PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and lastly, Nintendo Switch. SEGA has launched older Sonic games on some platforms, such as the classic Sonic the Hedgehog on the Nintendo Switch, but this new bundle is expected to come with four titles, extra animations, and both classic and anniversary modes. At the moment, pre-orders are available, and ordering early would grant you access to some bonus content.
Sonic Origins Pre-Order
Although re-releasing games that are about two decades old seems fairly straightforward, Sonic the Hedgehog manages to have a curiously fragmented list of pre-order options. Purchasing the standard edition would offer you access to the base game, but if you decide to pre-order, you would unlock 100 bonus coins, Mirror mode, and a custom letterbox background. A so-called “free” DLC also comes along with the Deluxe Edition.
The Deluxe Edition offers users most of the perks, unlocking everything that the DLC does not, which includes hard missions, extra character animations, camera controls over the main menu, and some music tracks. Also, there is a premium fun pack that holds some extra goodies, and a classical Musci pack that’s just the base game with some extra music tracks. It is a bit confusing, so in short – if you want it at all, you would need the Digital Deluxe Edition.
Sonic Origins Price
Although the game’s official price is not available on the Sonic the Hedgehog website, SEGA’s partners (Xbox) reveal that the base edition of the game would be priced at $40 and the Deluxe version would be priced at $45. Whether that price is a reasonable price, is up to the customers, but nostalgia is something strong, and coming back to have a taste of one of our favorite games is great.
So the origins might turn out to be a huge success despite the strange way the company decided to break up the four versions of the game.
