Princeton in Africa Nexus Fellowship is a program pilot for the 2023/2024 session. This year, Princeton in Africa seeks to expand its model to pilot Nexus!

The Nexus Fellowship for this year will pair in the same Fellowship, 5 Africa Fellows educated and resident on the African continent with 5 Fellows educated at recognized U.S. institutions on the African continent.

They’re paired for a co-fellow exchange of skills, knowledge, leadership, and technical expertise. The Nexus Fellowship program is an addition to Princeton in Africa (PiAf) signature fellowship program tailored for young leaders educated at a United States accredited institution.

Princeton in Africa (PiAf) offers service-oriented fellowships to Future Leaders in countries across the African continent to develop a long-lasting connection with Africans.

PiAf Provides highly selective yearlong fellowship programs to recent college graduates with organizations across the African continent. Fellows through their work, to make significant contributions to Africa’s well-being, are encouraged to cultivate meaningful relationships with communities in Africa and with one another.

Through the Nexus fellowship, Princeton in Africa matches talented and passionate college graduates with organizations working across Africa for yearlong service in such fields as humanitarian aid, public health, education, conservation, post-conflict reconstruction, and social entrepreneurship.

Criteria for PIAF Nexus Fellowship Qualification

To be eligible for the Nexus program, all applicants must meet the criteria below:

  • Applicants must have citizenship in an African Country with current residency in an African country
  • Considerations will not be given to Applicants with dual U.S. citizenship
  • Candidates must have an Undergraduate Degree or a Master’s degree or a Ph.D. from an African University to be eligible.
