Applications are now open for the Politician of the Year Award 2024. A prestigious initiative aimed at recognizing the outstanding contributions of young politicians worldwide. Created in 2018 in response to the significant underrepresentation of youth in political spheres. This award seeks to celebrate and empower the next generation of political leaders.
According to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, only a small fraction of parliamentarians worldwide are under the age of 30. Highlighting the urgent need for greater youth involvement in governance.
The One Young World Politician of the Year Award strives to address this disparity by honouring promising young politicians aged 18-35. Who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to serving their communities.
Winners of the award will be selected based on their tangible impact within their respective countries and their efforts to advocate for the interests of young people. This initiative not only acknowledges the achievements of young politicians but also aims to inspire greater youth engagement in political processes globally.
The award ceremony will be held during the One Young World Summit in Montréal, Canada, from September 18-21, 2024.
Eligibility
- Open to young politicians from around the world who are between the ages of 18-35.
Selection Criteria
- A distinguished international panel of judges with extensive political experience will assess candidates based on their demonstrated commitment to driving positive change and representing the interests of young people.
