Chip-making company Nvidia might just be planning to launch a pair of separate RTX 4080 graphics cars which is supposed to be equipped with 12GB and 16GB of video RAM. It is also reported that both of them will be released at once if anything in regard to the latest rumors is to be believed.

The Rumor is coming from MEGAsizeGPU on Twitter

This very rumor is coming from MEGAsizeGPU on Twitter as spotted by VideoCardz which is one source that we would have to be more skeptical about than normal. And as mentioned already, the theory making the rounds is that there will be two separate RTX 4080 models with 12GB and 16GB of VRAM, which as the leaker already points out is most certainly a passage that Nvidia has in the past taken such as with the GTX 1060 6GB and 3GB spins.

The major difference here in this very situation is the assertion that both of these variants of RTX 4080 will be released at the same time.

The Variants of RTX 4080 Will Actually Have Separate Designs According To the Leaker

The leaker in a previous tweet suggested that these variants of RTX 4080 will actually have separate designs, with the 16GB model set to be featuring a 12-layer PCB (printed circuit board), and the 12GB on the other hand a 10-layer PCB. The theory here is that the latter model will be the reference design of Nvidia (founder’s edition) and also the same for third-party graphics cards. The 16GB model on the other hand will be third-party only.

MEGAsizeGPU in fact contends that both the RTX 4080 cards will be sporting a completely separate and different PCB design.
