About the NSP National Scholarship Program

The Slovak Republic’s Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport provides funding for the NSP from the national budget of the country.

All qualified International students, PhD candidates, university instructors, researchers, and artists are encouraged to apply to carry out research in Slovakian higher education institutions and research organizations.

Benefits of the National Scholarship Program (NSP)

  • Student at University: 400 €
  • Doctorate student: 734 €

Allowance for Travel for PhD and University Students:

  • Distance less than 350 km costs €0;
  • Distance over 350 km costs €250;
  • Distance over 2,000 km costs €250;
  • Distance over 2,000 km costs €500; and
  • Distance over 7,000 km costs €1,000.

Duration of the NSP

The duration of the National Scholarship Programme (NSP) varies depending on the level of study and program requirements.

  • Master’s and PhD students can avail themselves of scholarships ranging from one to two full semesters
  • University teachers, researchers, and artists may stay for up to 10 months to pursue their academic or artistic endeavors.
