MTN Appoints New CEOs for Ghana and Sudan

Stephen Blewett, appointed as CEO of MTN Ghana in December, brings extensive experience in the telecoms industry to his new role.

He previously served as operations executive for markets in the West and Central African region, providing operational support across various markets.

MTN Ghana, a key market for the telco, has seen significant growth in its fintech sector, with active Mobile Money subscribers rising by 20.1% and MoMo revenue increasing by 48.8% during the current reporting period.

Ali Monzer, an MTN veteran with over 23 years of telecom sector experience, has been selected as CEO of MTN Sudan. His previous roles within the group include chief technology and information officer at MTN Uganda.

Driving MTN’s Ambitious 2025 Agenda

Monzer’s appointment comes at a challenging time for MTN Sudan, with the country facing a volatile situation and soaring inflation. Despite the challenges, Monzer’s expertise positions him to navigate the complexities of the Sudanese market.

Both Blewett and Monzer will play pivotal roles in driving MTN’s Ambitious 2025 agenda, which aims to achieve strategic objectives and propel the company’s growth trajectory.

Their leadership will be crucial in advancing MTN’s presence and impact in Ghana and Sudan amid evolving market dynamics and industry trends.
