Hyperkin is set to Release the Original Xbox Controller S

Accessory maker Hyperkin is reportedly bringing back the original Xbox Controller S of Microsoft as a modern gamepad, also complete with Hall effect joysticks and even triggers. The original Controller S as you should know reportedly came with the Japanese version of the console, while other industries got the big Duke controller. And eventually, the more compact controller then became the default and in the process superseded the Duke. Hyperkin on the other hand is calling its take on the more compact gamepad known as the “DuchesS.”

This Is the Third Retro Xbox Controller Design That Has Been Resurrected By Hyperkin

For those who are not familiar with the whole thing, this will be the third retro Xbox controller design that has been resurrected by Hyperkin. The company released its take on the Duke back in 2018 and then followed it up with a new and simpler version of the Xbox 360’s controller known as the Xenon in the previous year.

And just like its previous retro Xbox controllers, the DuchesS in question has been updated to work with modern systems and it is also officially licensed to work with the Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 and 11. There is however a share button that is built in for Series consoles, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headset jack. But perhaps most exciting with it is its inclusion of Hall effect joysticks as well as triggers, which should just make them more resistant to even growing inaccurate over time.

Pricing, Availability and Release Date

You should know that Hyperkin is only announcing that the controller is in development today, and the mages shared show designs that are still in development for the controller that may even get to change ahead of release. Pricing or a release date for the controller is yet to be released or confirmed.
