Duke University informed 2,148 students of their acceptance through the Regular Decision process. These students were chosen from a pool of 44,589 Regular Decision applicants, resulting in an admission rate of 4.8%. The incoming class was ultimately selected from a total of 49,469 applicants.

In the previous December, Duke had admitted 800 students to the Class of 2027 through the Early Decision application cycle, which had received 4,880 applicants, marking the second-highest number in the university’s history. Early Decision

According to the report released by Duke today on April 1, Duke University received a total of 4,880 applications for the Early Decision round for the Class of 2027. Out of these applicants, 800 students were admitted, making it the second-largest Early Decision applicant pool in the university’s history. The acceptance rate for Early Decision was recorded as the lowest ever at 16.5%.

Regular Decision

During the regular decision cycle, Duke University received 44,589 applications, out of which 2,148 students were accepted. This translates to an acceptance rate of approximately 4.8%. Comparing this to the previous year, the regular decision acceptance rate for the class of 2027 was lower than the 6% rate from the prior year but higher than the acceptance rate of 4.3% for the class of 2025. It is important to note that the regular decision acceptance rate remained significantly lower than the early decision rate of 16.5%.

Duke University SAT, ACT, And GPA

Half of Duke University’s admitted students had a SAT score between 1480 and 1570 or an ACT score between 33 and 35. However, one-quarter of approved applicants earned scores greater than these ranges, while the other quarter received lower scores.

Duke University does not disclose the specific GPA data of their admitted students. However, it is expected that most students who are accepted have a GPA of 4.0 or higher. Additionally, class ranks are generally quite high at Duke. In fact, approximately 90% of Duke students were ranked in the top 10% of their high school classes, while 97% were ranked in the top 25%.
