- Journalists having any nationality and who have reported on human rights and religious freedom issues in India, are eligible to apply for the award
- While the stories should be in English, video submissions in other languages are accepted with English subtitles.
- Eligible stories must be published in newspapers, magazines, or news websites (personal blogs are excluded).
- Entries can be single-authored or multi-authored.
- All Reports published from March 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023, are eligible for the Award.
- Journalists can apply for multiple categories.
- Entries can be single pieces or published series on the same topic.
- Evaluation criteria include reporting quality, investigative effort, informational value, resourcefulness, accuracy, and contribution to understanding the discussed issue.
- No submission fees are required.
