Grand Theft Auto is now a decade old. Rockstar Games, the studio behind the famed game reportedly honored the very milestone with new content for GTA Online, but however sadly, didn’t mention anything regarding GTA VI.
Grand Theft Auto Decade Old
It has been exactly 10 years since Grand Theft Auto V initially launched on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, followed immediately after by Grand Theft Auto Online. Rockstar Games in a thread on X today, reportedly thanked fans, calling them “the reason GTA V has thrived across multiple console generations.”
Rockstar Announces New Content for GTA Online
Rockstar in the previous week announced new content for GTA Online commemorating the said anniversary: new outfits; GTA V-themed weapon finishes; extra modes; a stock car dubbed the Bravado Hotring Hellfire for GTA+ members; and then other collectibles as well as bonuses for playing certain missions.
Experts’ Review of GTA V
In an experts’ review of GTA V, Andrew Webster of The Verge credited the sprawling world and fun gameplay of the game but however, felt like its strongest asset was actually the story of Rockstar’s. He reportedly felt that the approach of the game enables players to experience the narrative of the game from three different perspectives all at once, in such a way that isn’t possible with movies.
Rockstar ever since that time, has reportedly shipped versions of the games on the next two generations of Xbox as well as PlayStation and even reportedly improved things along the way with graphical upgrades such as ray tracing. The studio also launched and later had to fix buggy remasters of the first three 3D entries in the series in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — Definitive Edition.
Grand Theft Auto VI News
Rockstar unfortunately didn’t make an announcement regarding anything about Grand Theft Auto VI, which it confirmed in the previous year is in development. And apart from a massive leak of 90 minutes of game footage as well as its source code, information regarding the game has really been minimal. Rockstar most recently, announced that it was partnering with mod developer team Cfx.re in a bid to support its roleplay servers.
