GIST International Scholarships 2024-2025 In South Korea (Fully Funded Scholarship)

The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) Scholarship 2024 is open to all international students from around the world. GIST, known as a prestigious university, offers scholarships for Master’s, Doctoral, and Master’s leading to Ph.D. programs. This fully funded scholarship opportunity in Korea is available for the academic year 2024-2025.

GIST provides scholarships for all study fields and majors, enabling students to pursue a Master’s, Ph.D., or MS leading to a Ph.D. degree. The scholarship covers all expenses associated with studying abroad. The duration of the award is 2 years for Master’s degrees and 4 years for Ph.D. degrees. Students who aspire to study on fully funded scholarships in Korea are encouraged to apply for this opportunity.


The GIST International Scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year in South Korea provide full scholarships to international students studying for a master’s or Ph.D. degree at a leading university in Korea. The scholarship includes coverage of all costs related to obtaining the degree. Below are the specifics:

  • Full Tuition Coverage: 3,415,000 won per semester
  • Monthly Stipends:
  • For Master’s Degree: 140,000 won per month
  • For Ph.D. Degree: 295,000 won per month
  • Opportunity for all students involved in research projects to gain a Research Assistantship:
  • 4,820,000 won per year for Master’s students
  • 11,480,000 won per year for Ph.D. students
  • Health Insurance (for all international students):
  • 60% of the Korean National Health Insurance fee is supported.
  • Annual Medical checkup
  • Flight Reimbursement (for all incoming international students):
  • Reimbursement for a one-way flight to Korea.

To apply for the GIST International Scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year in South Korea, applicants are required to submit the following documents. There is no need to send these documents by post; they can be emailed directly to the university.

  • Statement on Application Documents Submission (Form1)
  • Certificate of Bachelor’s Degree or Bachelor’s Diploma
  • Bachelor’s Degree Transcript
  • Certificate of Master’s Degree or Master’s Diploma
  • Master’s Degree Transcript
  • Two letters of Recommendation (Form2)
  • Certificate of valid English Proficiency Test
  • Applicant’s Passport Copy
  • Letter of Recommendation for Matriculation Fee Waiver (Form3) (Optional)
  • Certificate of English Proficiency issued by your home university (Optional).

Eligibility Criteria

In order to qualify for the GIST Scholarship, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Candidates of any nationality from any part of the world can apply.
  • For the Masters Degree Scholarship, applicants should have completed an undergraduate degree.
  • For the Doctoral Degree Scholarship, applicants should have completed a master’s degree.
