The BEA Scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 intake are ongoing. The FG Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards presents a remarkable opportunity for eligible Nigerian students to study in prestigious Universities abroad.

The Nigerian government launched the FG BEA Scholarship under the direction of Prof. Tahir Mamman OON, SAN, the Honorable Minister of Education. Through bilateral education agreements, it seeks to allow worthy Nigerian students to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in a variety of nations.

Eligible Countries

Undergraduate Studies:

The FG BEA Scholarship covers undergraduate programs in the following countries:

  • Russia
  • Morocco
  • Hungary
  • Egypt, and;
  1. Postgraduate Studies:

The scholarship extends to

  • Russia (Applicants with a first degree from Russia),
  • China
  • Hungary
  • Serbia, and;
  • Romania

Available fields of study

The available fields of study include

  • Engineering
  • Geology
  • Agriculture
  • Sciences
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Sports
  • Law
  • Social Sciences
  • Biotechnology
  • Architecture
  • Medicine
  • Pilot Engineering, and;

Eligibility Criteria for the FG BEA Scholarship

The criteria for Undergraduate Scholarships:

  • A minimum of seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in topics pertinent to their chosen career, such as English language and mathematics, must be obtained by applicants in the May/June WASSCE/WAEC.
  • For non-African countries, certificates should be no older than two (2) years (2022 & 2023) and one year (2023) for African countries.
  • Age range: 17–20 years old.

For Postgraduate Scholarships:

  • A first degree with a first class or at least a second class upper division is required of applicants.
  • Candidates are expected or required to have completed the NYSC program.
  • Age restriction: 40 years for Ph.D., 35 years for Masters.

Generally;

  • Candidates for scholarships in BEA nations, where English is not the official language, should be ready to enroll in and complete a one-year foreign language course in the nation of their choice, where instruction will be provided mostly in that language.

  • Complete the application and print out the form for future reference.

Note: At any point during the application process, an applicant will be disqualified if they provide any information that violates the aforementioned requirements.

Also, there is no processing charge associated with this specific application.  Thus, be wary of con artists.

For Postgraduate: The first Degree Certificate obtained, NIN Slip, & NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate

  • The Data page of the current International passport
  • Medical reports
  • Birth Certificate
  • Indigene letter, and;
  • Police Clearance (where necessary)
