About CoalitionWILD
At the 10th World Wilderness Congress in 2013, CoalitionWILD was established as a result of the realization that youth leadership in conservation offers untapped potential for progress.
The program was first intended as a volunteer movement to unite young leaders who were enthusiastic about the environment, but it was later recognized that in order to make a genuine difference, young people needed to be given the tools, information, and opportunities to make a difference where it was most needed—at home.
In 2015, CoalitionWILD began playing a more active role in the development of young people. They continue to support youth leadership through mentoring, offering chances for skill development and upskilling training, and amplifying the voices of young people through networking and storytelling.
EXCELerator Program 2023 Overview
The EXCELerator program is designed to run for a duration of six months, with a capacity building and leadership development training session for young people who have an idea for an environmental project. These projects can tackle issues facing ecosystems, wildlife, communities, cultures, or livelihoods.
Therefore, whether your project is just an idea, in its early stages, or already being implemented, this program offers you the support and resources needed to make a real difference.
Who’s Eligible to Participate?
You are expected to meet the following criteria, to be considered eligible for the EXCELerator program
- Be 35 years of age or younger at the start of the program in November 2023.
- Have a project idea within the environmental field.
- Be dedicated to developing your project idea.
- Have access to a sound computer and a strong internet connection for a smooth virtual experience
- For those applying for the EXCELerator LIVE program, availability for live sessions on Thursdays between 12:30 to 14:00 UTC is also required.

- Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll receive an official Certificate of Completion, a valuable recognition of your achievements during the six-month journey.
- Global Opportunities: Get access to global opportunities for funding, networking, and having your project spotlighted on CoalitionWILD’s social media and WILD Voices blog.
