Applications are now being accepted for the EU – West Africa Arts Fusion Residency & Expo 2024. The EU – West Africa Arts Fusion Residency & Expo 2024 aims to showcase the power of artistic fusion in West Africa, a region where diverse cultures converge.

This exciting event will bring together artists and creatives from Ghana, Togo, Benin, and the EU Member States to encourage collaboration and cultural exchange across continents.

The chosen artists will participate in a residency project near Accra, Ghana, on the coast, concluding with a closing event at the residence of the EU Ambassador in Ghana, H.E. Irchad Razaaly, in Accra.

Eligibility Criteria

  • There are three application categories available: fashion, music, and visual arts.
  • Artists must hold nationality from one of the following countries: Ghana, Togo, Benin, or be a national of one of the 27 EU Member States.
  • Also, individuals from Ghana, Togo, and Benin need to provide proof of residency in one of these three countries.
  • Nationals of the EU Member States should have residency in one of the 27 EU Member States or Ghana, Togo, or Benin.
  • There is no age limit, except for a minimum age requirement of 18 years old.

Costs Covered

  • EU nationals can have their eligible transportation costs covered, including the round-trip flight fare and visa expenses from an EU Member State (excluding overseas territories). Only travel costs from the European territory of the EU are eligible. Alternatively, transportation expenses can be covered for overland travel from Benin, Togo, and Ghana.
  • Ghanaian, Togolese, and Beninese artists will have eligible transportation costs covered for travel to and from the residency location in Ghana. This applies to travel from either Benin, Togo, or Ghana.
  • Artists participating in the program will receive GHC 800 (approximately 60 EUR) per day during the 9-day program. This daily allowance is intended to cover their basic needs and meals.

Whether individuals specialize in fashion design, music, or various visual arts such as street art, painting, collage, or photography, the committee is enthusiastic about reviewing their work.
