EPSO Young Plant Scientist Award 2024
The EPSO Young Plant Scientist Award offers precisely that opportunity. The 2024 EPSO Young Plant Scientist Award’s primary objective is to foster the development of ideas and imaginative thinking in plant science.
EPSO, which stands for the European Plant Science Organisation, represents 70 institutional members and over 200 research institutes. The organization is committed to enhancing the impact and visibility of plant science in Europe.
Benefits
Successfully Candidates will have their registration and travel expenses covered, for an opportunity to present their research during a plenary session.
In addition to that, an honorarium of €200 will also be awarded.
Eligibility Criteria
The award is designed for Ph.D. students engrossed in fundamental or applied aspects of plant science. With awards in both categories, there’s ample opportunity for recognition.
Application Process
- Submit the completed application form (view the form here: https://bit.ly/3Qwd2G8), including an abstract and a short CV, by 31.1.2024. But remember, only those working in institutes with EPSO institutional membership are eligible.
- Two EPSO juries, one for fundamental research and another for applied research, will carefully evaluate the submissions.
- If you feel someone deserves this recognition, you can nominate them. PhD students who meet the criteria can also be nominated by others.

Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for the EPSO Young Plant Scientist Award 2024, will be based on:
- The novelty of ideas
- Potential impact on plant science, and;
- The ability to communicate complex research to non-specialists.
