Unfortunately, young people are often not given the trust and recognition they deserve as potential leaders and experts in their own right. In response to this, Chatham House is actively cultivating a diverse community of young individuals from across Africa and Europe to partake in an international exchange with policymakers.

Known as Common Futures Conversations (CFC), this flagship initiative aims to establish a community of young African and European leaders and actively involve them and their ideas in crucial policy discussions. The online platform was designed in collaboration with a network of 27 young people representing 13 countries, building upon a youth survey conducted in January 2019.

Developed by Chatham House and made possible through the support of the Robert Bosch Stiftung, CFC provides an invaluable opportunity for young voices to be heard and valued.
