Tech company apple is now in the development of new smart home products and devices in a bid to grow its presence in the smart home market as reported on Wednesday by Bloomberg.

The new products in question will range from a speedier Apple TV set-top box to a smart display tablet that can help to control lights and thermostats, show video, and even handle FaceTime chats, and it can also be mounted on the wall according to people that are familiar with the product plans, the report stated. The said expansion of Apple’s home lineup will help the company to compete in the smart home industry and market which is at the moment dominated by both Google and Amazon.

Apple Just Rolled Out Its HomePod Speaker

On Wednesday, Apple also rolled out its HomePod speaker which sells for $299 and it is inclusive of smart home features such as temperature and humidity sensors and the capability to notify users in the event that it hears a carbon monoxide or smoke alarm. The firm also reportedly redesigned its Home app in the summer in a bid to support the popular smart home protocol matter, which lets products from different brands work together.
