Applications for the Africa Scholarship Scheme Edition 2024 are now being accepted! With pleasure, the Mauritius government announces the availability of the scheme for the 2024–2025 academic year. This program will provide financial aid to suitably qualified students who are nationals of African Commonwealth nations or member states of the African Union.
The Africa Scholarship Scheme program is open to students enrolling full-time in on-campus undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs at public higher education institutions in Mauritius. Interested candidates are urged to seize the chance.

Requirements for Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024
To be considered for the Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024, applicants are to meet the following criteria:
- Candidates who wish to pursue an undergraduate programme must be above 18 years of age and should not have reached their 26th birthday by 01 January 2025.
- MPhil/PhD Candidates should not be up to 40 years by 01 January 2025.
- Prospective Candidates must have already applied for a full-time on-campus programme (Diploma, Degree, MPhil or PhD) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for the academic year starting in 2024.
- The scholarship will be for a maximum duration as indicated in the table [see Call for Applications] or the minimum course duration whichever is lesser
Application Procedures
- The Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024 requires interested Candidates to fill out an application and submit all required documents.
- Only the application form, properly completed, may be used to apply for the scholarship.
- A part of the application form has been set aside that needs to be completed and endorsed by the Nominating Agency in the applicant’s nation of citizenship.
- The only way to apply under this scheme is through the Nominating Agency. Which handles scholarship applications in the applicant’s home country.
- Applications should be sent to the Republic of Mauritius’ Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science, and Technology.
