YOUTH Solutions Micro Grant 2023
Acknowledging this potential, the Youth Solutions Micro-Grant aims to empower young individuals across the Asia-Pacific region to implement innovative solutions for housing and urban challenges.
Habitat for Humanity organizes the Asia-Pacific Housing Forum biennially, gathering individuals committed to finding inclusive and creative housing solutions while promoting affordable housing as a driver of economic growth. In collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the 9th Asia-Pacific Housing Forum is scheduled to take place on October 26–27, 2023, in Suwon, Republic of Korea.
Benefits
The Youth Solutions Micro Grant offers the following benefits:
- Mentoring from Global Professionals: The selected young applicants will receive guidance and mentoring from professionals worldwide, strengthening their ideas and initiatives.
- Seed Grant: The micro-grant will award US$2,000 each to five (5) proposals presented by young people, fostering a more creative, inclusive, and collaborative housing ecosystem for sustainable urban development.
- Youth Assembly Participation: Ten youth-led organizations will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions to stakeholders in the housing and urban sectors during the Youth Assembly in Suwon, South Korea.
Eligibility for Youth Solutions Micro Grant
To be eligible for this micro-grant;
- A significant number of organizational roles and decision-making positions are held by individuals aged 18 to 30. The applicant must either be a young person or represent a youth-led organization.
- The microgrant can be used to support either a new project or an existing one.
- Applicants must disassociate themselves from any endorsement of violent ideologies or animosity toward specific nations, cultures, religions, beliefs, ethnic groups, genders, etc.
How to Apply for Youth Solutions Micro-Grant 2023
From July 15, interested individuals and organizations may submit their applications. The deadline for submissions is August 19, 2023. The application process is conducted online and requires the following:
- Complete Online Application Form: This includes information about the applicant, context analysis, problem identification, the proposed youth-led solution, project budget, and project sustainability.
- 60-Second Video Proposal: A brief video summarizing the suggested project is required. The video should outline the proposed solution and can be as simple as having the team present a concise overview.
