Applications are currently being accepted for the YGap South Africa Agripreneur Accelerator Program 2024. This program is designed to support entrepreneurs aiming to expand the impact of their ventures.
The ygap South Africa accelerator program entails intensive bootcamp training followed by twelve months of personalized assistance, including business skills development, technical support, strategic insights, mentorship, access to international partner networks, peer learning opportunities, and integration into a global community of entrepreneurs.
By participating in the ygap Accelerator Program, impact ventures can refine and validate their business models, progress towards financial sustainability, and enhance their capacity to effect change in their communities.
Participants will join a cohort of like-minded entrepreneurs, expanding their network while receiving tailored technical support and advice from local experts.
The program aims to foster the growth of locally-driven impact ventures, recognizing their potential to catalyze change within their communities.
Benefits
Upon completion of the ygap Accelerator Program, ventures will achieve:
- A proven and validated Theory of Change.
- Evidence of product-market fit with a compelling value proposition for key customer segments.
- A validated business model demonstrating desirability, feasibility, and viability.
- Comprehensive financial statements, including income and cash flow statements.
- Demonstrated growth traction through data across key metrics.
- A practical and feasible 12-month growth plan with clear action steps, quarterly milestones, and projections.
It is anticipated that ventures completing the program will increase revenue, and generate employment opportunities. And attract further investment, thereby making a tangible impact in their communities.
Eligibility
The program seeks ventures that:
- Operate in the agriculture sector, with a preference for Black and women-led businesses focused on climate, sustainability, livelihoods, or food security.
- Are post-revenue and able to provide evidence of commercial transactions.
- Recognize and value the benefits of participating in the ygap program, demonstrating a commitment to engagement and investment in their venture’s growth.
- Have a social or environmental focus, actively working to improve their community, city, or country.
- Have deep connections to their community, demonstrating passion, commitment, and a long-term perspective.
- Are already operational and formally registered in most cases, with proof of registration required unless otherwise exempt.
