Xbox Game Pass Family Plan is on the Way

The Xbox game pass family plan gets to allow five members share a share the subscription, ultimately saving them money when compared to the cost of the individual subscriptions. If the report is right, the plan would not limit its usage to people that are in the same household, but it would instead allow up to five individuals located in the same country to share the subscription.

This is generous, as the likes of Netflix want accounts to take place only between people that are from the same household. This allowed a bunch of gamer buddies to gain access to all of the Xbox Game Pass perks at a subsidized rate sounds like a solid strategy in other to retain existing subscribers and also acquire new ones. However, it is yet to be clear whether the Xbox Game Pass family plan will be exclusive to the PC-only tier of service, or if it would be limited to only Xbox consoles. Also, it would be possible that Microsoft would offer the Xbox Game pass Ultimate tier a Family plan extension.

Xbox Ecosystem Big Move

The only certainty at the moment, assuming that the details are right, is that the family plan would dramatically take down the Xbox Game pass subscription cost for customers that are paying on a per-person basis. At the moment, Microsoft is currently selling its game subscription service across two tiers, the cheapest is offered at $9.99 per month, with a plan that covers PCs and another covering consoles.

Joining that is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Plan which is priced at $14.99 per month, and offers subscribers access to games across PCs, consoles, and mobile devices via the company’s cloud-based game streaming service formerly recognized as the xCloud. Unfortunately, the leak does not include any information concerning how much the family plan would go for.

Xbox Game Pass Library

The Game Pass Library owned by Xbox has over 100 games and it also offers exclusive discounts on game purchases to subscribers. And with Ubisoft+ under its belt and the recent Activision Blizzard Acquisition, the future of the Game Pass is looking brighter for the Xbox Game Pass loyalists, at least as far as the title portfolio is concerned.

Another notable perk is that subscribers are offered access to new games on the same days as their market release. Sony has also decided to add more tiers to their PlayStation Plus Service taking place this year, but first-party exclusive games would not be available to players on the day of launch.
