The World Press Photo Foundation is inviting photojournalists or documentary photographers from Africa, Latin America, Asia or Southeast Asia, to apply for its World Press Photo Contest 2024. The Foundation is thrilled to welcome a multiplicity of stories and varieties of photographers from all over the world to enter the 2024 contest.
The World Press Photo Contest is an annual event that seeks to recognize, as well as celebrate the best photojournalism and documentary photography produced the previous year, often selected by an international independent jury.
Prospective Candidates should note that entering the contest is free of charge and grant prizes are up to €6,000, in addition to other benefits (annual travelling exhibition etc.)
Benefits of World Press Photo Contest 2024
All professional photographers engaged in photojournalism or documentary photography are eligible to enter the World Press Photo Contest at no cost.
Should you emerge a winner, your work will Include:
- Included in the foundation’s yearly touring exhibition, which is viewed by more than 4 million people and is displayed in more than 80 cities worldwide
- Posted on the foundation’s website and on social media networks that have more than two million followers
- Featured in the World Press Photo Foundation’s yearbook
- Additionally, you will get €5,000 for the four global winners and €1,000 for each of the 24 regional winners.
Additionally:
- You will be eligible for a €1,000 grant offered to each of the 24 regional winners and an additional €5,000 for the four global winners
- You stand a chance to be invited to the Winners’ Program in Amsterdam
- The four global winners will receive a FUJIFILM GFX100 II camera, with two lenses of choice, two Li-ion batteries, and a dual battery charger

How to Enter the World Press Photo Contest 2024?
The deadline for entries to the 2024 program is January 11, 2022, at 13.00 CET. The steps to enter are:

You can sign in with the same credentials if you have entered the World Press Photo Contest on Picter within the last three years.
- Use your personal information and documentation of your professional standing to register for the Picter 2024 World Press Photo Contest.
- You can upload your work and add captions, metadata, and other information while your registration is being reviewed.
- Send in your entries no later than January 11, 2024, at 13.00 CET.

- December 01, 2023, 13.00 CET (Amsterdam time): Call for Entries opens
- Entries Close Date: January 11, 2024, 13.00 CET (Amsterdam time)
- Announcement of Regional winners: 03 April 2024.
- Announcement of Global winners: April 18, 2024.
