The Westerwelle Young Founders Programme (YFP) 2023 Applications are now Open, the Fellowship is a six-month Program for 25 leaders/Young Entrepreneurs, creating equal opportunity in the developing markets towards a sustainable future.
Westerwelle Young Founders offers targeted support to scale its founders’ ventures and develop their leadership abilities, with the following programme plan:
- Two days digital kick-off conference to take place on March 3 and 6, 2023.
- Remote Programme in which Young Entrepreneurs/Founders will be given six months of support and mentorship from March–August 2023. Young Founders will also receive monthly peer learning sessions, expert workshops and networking opportunities with corporates and investors.
- Conference in Berlin: Invitations will be sent to the ten best-performing Young Founders for a five-day conference in Berlin in May 2024.
The Westerwelle Young Founders Program in Germany is an international fellowship in which leaders from all over the world are brought together. The program unites outstanding young entrepreneurs in the pursuit to achieve entrepreneurial greatness. Additionally, there an opportunity to join alumni of the fellowship and gets to know their successful methods of business in emerging markets.
Westerwelle Foundation is committed to contributing to creating more opportunities for people around the world. The 2023 Spring is one of the Foundation’s commitments to promote international understanding and foster better grounds for a market economy and tolerance.

Rewards of the Westerwelle Young Founders Programme
- Participants will Join in a two-day digital Kick-off conference in the first week of September.
- Full support for Participants for a period of six months. These supports include; a personal mentor, alumni buddy, peer mentoring sessions per month, monthly workshops, and networking opportunities.
- Opportunity to Contact investors and corporates.
- The program’s top ten participants will be invited to attend a fully-funded international conference in Germany for 5 days.
- In the course of the Five days conference, participants will join networks, and get an insight into Germany’s start-up scene.

Requirements for the Westerwelle Young Founders Programme
- Ideal Candidates must have started a profit-oriented company in recent five years, with the focus of the company on developing or emerging markets.
- Participating companies must have a business model that must be successful in terms of generating ideal revenue or have secured its first round of external funding.
- All participants must have good knowledge of the English language and must be available for conferences and events for six months during this fellowship.
