About Silk Roads Youth Research Grant
UNESCO is offering this Research grant to eligible international students with the support of the Chinese National Commission
The program was first launched in 2021 long the Social and Human Sciences Sector. This year, the program (third edition) was launched on the 8th of March, 2023.
The main objective of this Research Grant is to bring young researchers together to pursue a study of the Silk Roads shared heritage. About 12 researchers including men and women, will be awarded the grant this year. However, prospective Candidates must be below the age of 35.

Eligibility Criteria for UNESCO Silk Roads Youth Research Grants 2023
- To be eligible, the prospective Candidate must be 35 years or below.
- The prospective Candidates should be interested in postgraduate-level research in the field of Science and Technology, Religion and Spirituality, Language and Literature, Arts and Music, Sports, Economy, and Trade,
- Applicants must ensure that they submit their proposals before the deadline 31 May 2023.
- Proposals will go through an evaluation process by a scientific panel consisting of top international academics.
- Announcements of awardees will be announced in October 2023.
