Call for Proposals – UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women 2024 (Up to $1,000,000 Funding) – APPLY NOW

“The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund) is now accepting project concepts for its 27th grant cycle. The fund is seeking submissions from civil society organizations with demonstrated expertise in combating violence against women and girls, particularly focusing on marginalized individuals.

Priority will be given to applications from women’s rights, women-led, constituent-led, and small organizations. Additionally, the fund encourages partnerships with smaller, local, and grassroots women’s and girls’ rights organizations, allowing for up to four implementing partners.

The current call for proposals includes two funding windows:

  • General Window: Focusing on addressing violence against marginalized women and girls, as well as those experiencing multiple forms of discrimination.
  • Special Window: Specifically targeting violence against women and girls affected by specific circumstances.

Funding

  • Civil society organizations have the opportunity to apply for grants ranging from USD 150,000 to USD 1,000,000 for four years.
  • This call actively promotes applications from smaller, local organizations through a specialized small grants funding mechanism, which offers additional core funding in the range of $150,000 to $250,000.
  • All approved organizations will receive funding for four years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The UN Trust Fund will exclusively consider applications from Civil Society Organizations possessing specialized knowledge, expertise, and a proven track record in advocating for the rights of women and/or girls and working towards eliminating violence against them.
  • Organizations should have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in programming aimed at ending violence against women and/or girls.
  • As part of the application process, the organization must provide details of its technical expertise and experience in this field, including a history of addressing this issue and the profiles of staff members with the necessary skills in ending violence against women and girls.
  • Priority will be given to applications from Women’s Rights Organizations (WRO), organizations led by women, organizations led by and for marginalized women and girls (constituent-led), and small organizations.
  • Multi-country proposals involving up to 10 countries, with a projected impact beyond the national level, will also be considered.
  • Collaborations with smaller local grassroots organizations focused on women’s and girls’ rights are encouraged, with up to four implementing partners.
  • Organizations currently receiving grants from the UN Trust Fund are not eligible to apply.
