The 2023 edition of the Animal Welfare Student Scholarships Application is open. The Scholarships enable students to develop their interests in animal welfare science.

Participating Students will carry out their own project be it research or educational, with the aim of contributing to the growing knowledge of how best to assess, or improve, the welfare of animals (Farm animals, animals in zoos, pets, animals used in scientific research, or wild animals)
These projects may be carried out from any location around the world. However, in the event that the location of the study is not at the university or institute where the student is enrolled, there is a need for confirmation from the study host.
UFAW Animal Welfare Student Scholarships Funding
The UFAW Animal Welfare Student scholarship payments are usually made by cheque in GBP Sterling to applicants residing in the United Kingdom (UK) and by bank transfer to applicants outside of the UK.

Benefits of UFAW Animal Welfare Student Scholarships
The benefits of UFAW Animal Welfare Student Scholarships include:
- Participating Students will be given a £250 per week subsistence allowance and
- A £100 per week for project expenses.
- Provision of Support for up to 8 weeks up to a maximum of £2800, although projects themselves may be longer than this.

Eligibility Criteria for UFAW Animal Welfare Student Scholarships Qualification
- The Animal Welfare Student scholarship program is open to undergraduate or MSc students who are interested in carrying out a project in animal welfare
- Students must be studying at universities or colleges with a Universities Federation of Animal Welfare (UFAW) Link.
- PhD students are not eligible to apply for this UFAW Scholarship

- Online: An online form with contact information and a summary of the project
- Project description: A well-detailed project description of up to 3 pages
- Curriculum vitae: A CV for the student applying (1-2 pages)
