The upgrade to the iPhone 15 Wi-Fi 6E might be for the Pro models only and this is yet another reason to pay more.
The Upgrade To The iPhone 15 Wi-Fi 6E Might Be for the Pro Models Only
When the iPhone 15 devices finally make an appearance we will once again be expecting various differences between the standard two phones and the two more expensive pro models and one of these expected differences could be well placed in the Wi-Fi support.
A leaked document that was posted by Unknownz21, a popular tipster on Twitter makes reference to the antenna architecture for the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The Standard iPhone 15 And the Plus Model Will Be Sticking to the Same Wi-Fi 6 Spec As The iPhone 14 Series
And according to the document, the standard iPhone 15 and the Plus model on the other hand will be sticking to the same Wi-Fi 6 spec just as the current iPhone 14 series. The Pro and the Pro Max on the other hand will be upgraded to the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard.
Earlier this week we have been hearing rumors that the Wi-Fi 6E would be well on its way to the iPhone 15 series in 2023, but however, at this stage, we were thinking that the upgrade was intended for all of the models. And right now, that does not seem to be the case.
The Difference between Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E
However, the difference between Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E is not much as it supports an extra 6 GHz frequency band along with 2.4GHz and 5 GHz, and while the speeds on the other hand are very much similar, there is more capacity for more devices. Also, you will need a Wi-Fi 6E router in order to take advantage of the newly improved technology.
And while it is being mentioned in this document leak, we are however assuming that if the iPhone 15 Ultra is real, then it will be having the Wi-Fi 6E upgrade too. It’s however still not clear as to whether the iPhone will be a separate model or get to take the place of the Pro Max version of the iPhone.
