Steven Spielberg is the newest moviemaker to shoot with an iPhone. The filmmaker behind some iconic moves such as the Extra-Terrestrial, Indiana Jones, Jaws, and Jurassic Park has made a one-shot music video for Marcus Mumford on his iPhone.
Steven Spielberg Is the Newest Moviemaker to Shoot With An iPhone
Filmmaker Steven Spielberg is now the latest filmmaker to make use of an iPhone in shooting a project. During the filming process of his first ever music video, the filmmaker chose to use his phone as the camera for Marcus Munford’s single Cannibal.
Mumford in a tweet wrote, “On Sunday 3rd July in a high school gym in New York, Steven Spielberg directed his first music video, in one shot, on his phone. Kate Capshaw was the almighty dolly grip.”
Steven is already known as one of the most revered filmmakers in the world having created iconic movies such as the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic park, Jaws, Schindlers list, and Minority Report among many others. The filmmaker will be following the footsteps of other filmmakers such as Michel Gondry, Steven Soderbergh, and Zach Snyder in making use of an iPhone as a camera.
A 4-Minute Black-And-White Video Was the Result of the Shoot
The result of the development is a 4-minute black-and-white video of Mumford singing in a high school gym, and everything was done in a single shot. In one of the photos that were posted by Mumford alongside his tweet, Spielberg can be seen in a rolling chair with his jeans rolled up while filming with his iPhone. And unlike with Chris Evans, there’s no word on the type of iPhone used by Spielberg, but wouldn’t it be great if it was an iPhone 6S?
The wife of Spielberg, Kate Capshaw was also seen behind the chair rolling Speilberg around. And when you finally get to see the video, you will see the very much impressive results of her electrifying leg work.
