Google Maps Now Provides Aerial Views Of Close To 100 Global Landmarks

Google maps as part of its immersive view experience have unveiled aerial views of close to 100 landmarks all over the world, the tech company announced on Wednesday. One can easily explore famous and popular monuments in cities across the globe such as New York, Tokyo, London, and Barcelona making use of the new photorealistic.

This new update of the Google map gives you a better chance to see Big Ben, the empire state building, Alcatraz Island, and many more when you are planning a trip or to just simply satisfy your curiosity.

What Google Has To Say about the New Update

And according to a blog post from Amanda Leicht Moore, who is the Maps’ director of product, aerial views are the very “first step” in the immersive view launch, an update that was originally announced at the Google I/O event back in May. To tell if aerial images are available for a particular site, all you need to do is to open the Maps app, search for the landmark and then scroll to the Photos section.

The feature is being compared to Apple Maps’ Flyover at the moment. The apple maps flyover feature as you should know allows you to tour a city or landmark in 3D, with full VR effects. Google Maps aerial views are now available to iOS and Android users all over the world.

Also, maps is revamping its bicycle routes and location-sharing feature. Cyclists will now be able to look up bike routes and then check for increased vehicle traffic, steep hills, or even staircases. Riders can also compare routes for various road types in order to better prepare for their trip. The new navigation upgrade will be rolling out in the coming weeks for hundreds of cities.

The Maps App Provides You with Notifications Alert

If you are using location sharing, the maps app now provides you with notifications that will alert you at the time your friend or your relatives arrive at their destination.  The person on the other hand must be sharing their location with you and you can also ass an address in other to track their locations as they come and go. This feature also is available for both Android and iOS users.
