The JSK Journalism Fellowship program has two main components;

  • The Exploration and testing ideas for handling problems in journalism that is important to you,
  • The Identification of mindsets and tools that is required to become a more resilient leader and change agent.

JSK Journalism Fellowship is an annual Fellowship that brings journalists together from around the world to spend a couple of months (September-June) at Stanford working on solutions to the most urgent problems facing journalism.

  • Time and freedom to explore the resources of a world-class university, helping fellows to develop leadership resilience and mindsets needed to effectively lead and navigate change for decades to come.
  • Fellows are offered a stipend of $95,000, plus a housing supplement to help with their rent.
  • Fellows with children up through high school graduation are given additional supplemental payment and coverage for the cost of Stanford tuition, and health insurance for fellows, spouses and children.
  • Fellows are also given rental housing near campus.

Eligibility Criteria for Stanford University JSK Journalism Fellowships Qualification

The following set of persons are eligible to apply for JSK Journalism Fellowship:

  • All United States and international journalists with digital-native and legacy news organizations, independent journalists, journalism entrepreneurs and journalism innovators.

Eligibility

  • All the Applicants must have at least five years of full-time professional work experience.
  • Applicants are not required to have a college degree or experience in traditional newsrooms.
  • Unaccepted Applications are those from people who are working in public relations jobs, house newsletters or magazines, for government agencies.
  • The JSK Journalism fellowship does not support book projects and is not a business accelerator.
