SHRMLabs’ BWCC Startup 2024 – Overview
The 2024 BWCC Startup track is a 3 round pitch competition that aims to find WorkplaceTech startups that are transforming the way we engage our work. Startups will showcase their technologies to HR professionals, corporate executives, and SHRM members in an opportunity to win the prize tag of $50,000 and advance their company.
The first round, which consists of five segments each centered on a different HR category, starts in March 2024. Each segment will have five companies chosen to compete from the same category. The victor of every segment will subsequently advance to the semifinals.
The top three startups will then advance to the championship round, where they will face off live on June 24, 2024, at Chicago, IL, at SHRM’s Annual Conference and Expo.
Benefits of SHRMLabs’ BWCC Startup Competition
The benefits of the SHRMLabs’ Better Workplaces Challenge Cup (BWCC) 2024, include the following:
- An exposure during the competition in front of SHRM’s 325,000+ members in 165 countries, the world’s largest HR network that affects the lives of 235 million workers worldwide and their families.
- Two (2) representatives will receive travel expenses covered to SHRM’s Annual Conference and Exposition in Chicago, IL from June 23–26, 2024.
- A fully funded, branded booth area on the exhibit hall floor of SHRM’s Annual Conference at the SHRMLabs Workplace Innovation Zone.
- Up to $50,000 cash prize.
Eligibility Requirement for SHRMLabs BWCC Startup Track Competition
- The business must be a startup in its early stages that is focused on the HR tech, workplace tech, Future of Work, or human capital services sectors.
- The business must be a for-profit organization with a management group and a website accessible to the public.
- The business must be able to explain its business plan and provide KPIs for adoption, engagement, and traction.
- At the time of the application, the company could not have raised more than $5 million in total outside capital.
- At the time of the application, the company’s revenue could not have exceeded $5 million.
- Improved workplaces must be a direct result of workplace solutions. While others are welcome to apply, SHRM will be specifically searching for solutions in the following workplace market segments:
