Report says that the iPhone 14 Pro Could Get an Upgraded Ultra-Wide Camera
Most rumors relating to the camera of the iPhone 14 pro so far have focused on the main sensor. As things go will reportedly be increased from 12MP on the iPhone 13 pro to 48MP this year. And with new leaks and reports, it now sounds like the ultra-wide snapper could be in for a huge upgrade too.
As per reliable leaker and analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, a person who has a very impressive record as per information regarding apple products in a tweet which was spotted by Apple Insider, the tech company is making use of larger 1.4um pixels on the most recent models.
The New Camera on the iPhone 14 Will Have Pixels That Are Around 40% Larger
That being said, this newer camera will have pixels that are around 40% larger, and this means that the camera should now perform better in low light as it is larger pixels can capture more light.
However, while we are not expecting an increase in the megapixels on this sensor as of yet, and with the 12MP looking more than likely, it could therefore be in for some big upgrade in many other ways.
And as ever, we would advise you to take this information with a pinch of salt. But since we are already and only a week away from the stipulated September 7 launch date for the iPhone 14 range, and also this close to the launch, the leaks seem to have a high tendency of accuracy.
Analysis on Whether the Telephoto Could Be Left Out Of the Upgrades
It’s sounding at the moment with this piece of information that the cameras on the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro max could be a big improvement on the phone side with huge changes coming to both the primary and ultra-wide snappers and also with the 8K video recording rumored for inclusion.
What about the telephoto features? Most signs so far suggest that this will not be in for any of the major upgrades. This, therefore, means that you can probably expect a 12MP camera with optical zoom and this is a spec that is increasingly looking dated.
