The ProBleu funding initiative recognizes the crucial role that primary and secondary schools play in educating children and youth about blue sustainability and the protection of marine and freshwater ecosystems.

Over three years, ProBleu will announce multiple funding opportunities on its website, providing financial support to at least 100 schools. These funds will give schools the power to create various educational and citizen science projects aimed at raising awareness and promoting action towards environmental conservation.

Benefit

  • Schools with initiatives for improving Water and ocean Literacy and joining the Network of European Blue Schools can receive funding of up to €10,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This opportunity is available to primary and secondary schools in the EU-27 Member States and associated countries. To check if your country is eligible, please refer to the call guidelines.
  • Although grants are given to schools as legal entities, active involvement from students, teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders is strongly encouraged.
  • Projects should aim to engage participants in topics related to Blue Sustainability, foster collaboration among different stakeholders, seek partnerships with other schools and ensure equal opportunities for all participants.

How to Apply ProBleu Funding Call 2024

  • Download the Call for proposals and refer to the guidelines to understand and prepare your project.
  • Get your answers ready for the online application form and attach the required documents in English:
  • Use the ProBleu template for the project description.
  • Follow the ProBleu template for the Declaration of Honour.
  • Complete the online form by 19/01/2024 at 17:00 CET (Brussels time). It is advised not to wait until the last minute and submit your proposal in advance to avoid potential internet or technical issues close to the deadline.
  • Once you have submitted your proposal, you can expect to receive a confirmation email. If you do not find it in your inbox, your proposal did not go through. In such cases, you can file a complaint via the provided email address on the official website. Please explain the issue and include your proposal (and if possible, screenshots) to help us understand what went wrong.
