Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Policy Leader Fellowship Program. Invited to apply for this residential program at the Florence School of Transnational Governance (STG), are; Mid-career policy professionals from a variety of policy fields including politics, civil service, media, non-governmental organizations, and others.
Fellows are granted access to how EU policies are made. Meanwhile, the Policy Leader Fellowship Program is located within one of the most esteemed academic institutions in Europe and does not require fellows to have a background in academics. The program seeks to attract applicants with different real-world governing experiences.
Policy Leader Fellowship Program 2024 – Key Features
- Fellows receive firsthand knowledge of how EU policies are made.
- Networking: The program is a means of establishing enduring personal and professional ties with teachers at EUI, STG, and other participants.
- Global Alumni Network: Fellows have lifetime access to EUI’s training programs and become part of a global network of policy experts after completing their program.
Benefit/Grant
- Monthly grant: €2,500, plus additional family allowances as needed.
- Taxation: Fellows are not subject to EUI taxes, but they are still required to abide by any other relevant tax laws.
- Medical Insurance: Throughout their tenure, fellows must have sufficient coverage.
- Travel Expenses: Up to €1,200 in reimbursement for both inbound and outbound travel.
Eligibility Requirement
- Applications are accepted from people of all nationalities and locations. Being an EU citizen is not necessary.
- Although there is no minimum age requirement, candidates must show that they have at least ten years of relevant work experience.
- Candidates with a primarily academic background will usually not be selected; instead, mid-career professionals who can demonstrate substantial professional experience (minimum 10 years) and potential for future greatness in a certain policy area will be given consideration.
- Applicants must be self-driven and motivated, capable of carrying out the tasks outlined in the fellowship work plan on their own.
- The fellowship is open to Individuals with an open mind and a riosity that are eager to participate in group conversations on subjects that may fall outside of their area of expertise.
- Residence: Prospective Candidates are expected to be reresidentsn the area of Florence for the duration of their Fellowship to ensure active participation in the activities of the EUI/STG and the fellowship programme.
Duration of Policy Leader Fellowship Program 2024
The term or duration of the Policy Leader Fellowship Program is either five or ten months. Applicants should select one of the following alternatives to express their preference:
- For five months: January 2024–September 2024 or February 2025–June 2025
- September 2024 – June 2025 is the ten months.
