The Prestigious International Peace Scholarship Fund was created in 1949 to provide Awards for international women students to pursue graduate degree programs in the U.S. or Canada.
Meanwhile, the PEO International Peace scholarship is offered on the basis of demonstrated need; but, the award is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses. When applying for this scholarship, the applicant is required to indicate additional financial resources adequate to meet her estimated expenses.
Additional resources include personal and family funds, tuition waivers, work scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants, and other scholarships. The highest amount of IPS awarded to a student is $12,500.

About PEO International Peace Scholarships
P.E.O. was established by seven students at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa on the 21st of January 1869. These students were bonded by their enthusiasm for women’s opportunities. Subsequently, they expanded to include women off campus as well.
Since its inception, P.E.O. Sisterhood has brought together over half a million women through membership in the United States and Canada, who are passionate about helping women advance through education while supporting and motivating them.

Benefits of the PEO International Peace Scholarship
- The Scholarship Recipients will receive a maximum amount of $12,500. Other lower amounts may be awarded according to individual needs.
- The PEO International Peace scholarship is based on demonstrated financial need; but, the award is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses.
- During the application, the applicant is required to confirm additional financial resources adequate to meet her estimated expenses.
- The PEO International scholarship amount will be divided into two payments to be distributed in August and December

Eligibility Criteria for PEO International Peace Scholarship Qualification
- Ideal Candidates must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study and working toward a graduate degree in an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
- Citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada are not eligible.
- The PEO OmScholarships are not given for research, internships, or practical training unless it is combined with coursework.
- The scholarship Awards are not to be used to pay past debts.
- To be eligible for her first scholarship, an applicant must have a full year of coursework remaining, be enrolled, and be in residence for the entire school year.
- Candidates who are Doctoral students and have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations are not eligible as first-time applicants.
- All International students attending cottey college are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
