The 2024 edition of the MEXT Asia Pacific University Japanese Government Scholarship 2024, is now open for applications! This scholarship is available for all international students from countries having diplomatic relations with Japan. Hosted by Asia Pacific University, this scholarship is fully funded by the Japanese Government.
MEXT Asia Pacific University Japanese Government Scholarship recipients can pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree Programs at the prestigious APU University. Amazingly, students are not required to present an IELTS/TOFEL score. However, to be considered for this scholarship, applicants are required to first apply for admission at Asia Pacific University (APU). After this APU will select eligible candidates to recommend to the scholarship organization.

MEXT Asia Pacific University Japanese Government Scholarship 2024 offers numerous benefits to successfully selected applicants. These benefits Include:
- A full Tuition fee waiver (covered by the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship)
- A 144,000 JPY monthly payment for living expenses (amount subject to change)
- The recipient’s economy class Air travel between their home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program.
Eligibility Criteria
All interested candidates for the MEXT UR Scholarship must meet the following criteria to apply
- Applicants should have plans to study abroad in Japan from overseas.
- He/She must have Japanese nationality and be a national of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan.
- Age: was born on or after April 2, 1989
- Have already attained a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at their most recent university.
- Have English Proficiency test scores equivalent to B2 or above on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale.
- In the event where applicant does not have any English test, he/she can provide an English Proficiency Certificate from a previous University stating that the degree language was English.
