The Medical Research Foundation is offering a funding opportunity of up to £100,000 for mid-career researchers who specialize in mental health.
The research projects that receive funding should aim to enhance the understanding of mental health, as well as improve the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery processes. Also, this funding can serve as a stepping stone for researchers to pursue further studies that are eligible for larger funding opportunities.
Grant Details
They welcome applications in various areas of mental health research, but we particularly encourage submissions focusing on overlooked aspects, such as suicide and self-harm, trauma-related mental health, borderline personality disorder, and OCD.
They also consider neurodevelopmental disorders, and we encourage researchers working in ADHD and Tourette’s to apply. The Launchpad Grants in Mental Health provide funding for conducting pilot studies, establishing collaborations, and developing strong research proposals for larger funding opportunities.
Previous work leading up to the application does not have to be exclusively based in the UK, applicants should demonstrate the relevance of their proposed research to mental health in the UK.
