Applications are open for MCW Global Young Leaders Fellowship 2024. The Young Leaders Fellowship Program offers a unique opportunity for young individuals aged 18-26 worldwide to engage in community projects related to education, health, and economic security.
This year-long program aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to become changemakers in their respective communities through leadership development, global citizenship, self-awareness, and vision planning.
MCW Global Young Leaders Fellowship
MCW Global’s Young Leaders Fellowship begins with a Community Needs Assessment, where participants spend one month mapping out the needs of their local communities. This activity helps them gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they will be addressing.
Following the assessment, participants engage in an intensive one-month Virtual Program designed to empower them as leaders of positive change. After completing the Virtual Program, participants receive support from alumni mentors as they spend 10 months developing their action plans.
Benefits of MCW Global Young Leaders Fellowship
The program offers the following benefits for participants:
- International participants will receive economy-class flights for international travel.
- United States participants will receive domestic economy-class flights.
- Accommodation will be provided from the evening of July 8 to July 18, 2024.
- Three meals per day will be provided from July 9 to July 18, 2024.
- Round-trip travel will be arranged from New York, New York to Burlington, Vermont.
- Public transportation to and from JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark Airports will be provided.
Eligibility Criteria
Young Leader Must:
- Display a strong commitment to your community.
- Identify an issue in the areas of education, health, or economic security within your community.
- Fall within the age range of 18 to 26 when the program begins on June 1, 2024.
- Possess fluent English language skills, both in written and spoken form.
- Commit to participating in the Community Needs Assessment in June, attending the 10-day in-person program in July, and dedicating the following year to executing your community project.
- Have reliable access to email and the internet for regular communication with the MCW Global Team and Young Leaders Fellowship alumni-mentor throughout the year-long program.
- Adhere to the graduation guidelines specified for the Young Leaders Fellowship (details will be provided upon acceptance into the program).
- Be eligible for the appropriate visa and travel documentation.
- Submit a fully completed application by Sunday, November 12, 2023, before 11:59 PM (NYC EST time).
How to Apply For MCW Global Young Leaders Fellowship 2024
- It is necessary to fill out the application in English.
- Letters of recommendation and resumes should also be written in English. Any non-English parts of the application will not be considered and the application will be considered incomplete.
The application includes the following sections:
- General Information
- Essay Questions, which involve identifying an issue in your community that concerns you and explaining how you would address it, as well as describing a challenge you faced and how you used leadership skills to find a solution.
- Resume, which should be no longer than 1 page and prepared in Times New Roman, 12 font, with 1-inch margins.
- Two Letters of recommendation, preferably from individuals familiar with your work ethic and commitment to your community. Friends and family members are discouraged from writing these letters. The recommenders should include their name, position, contact information, and relationship to the applicant at the top of the letter.
- Liability Waiver, which should be reviewed and agreed to at the end of the application.
- To submit the application, create an account through the provided Application Portal link and ensure that it is submitted by Sunday, November 12, 2023.
