It is committed to nurturing emerging leaders devoted to fostering global cooperation and steering towards sustainability. The MGG Academy emphasizes tackling worldwide challenges through the establishment of trust, the assimilation of diverse perspectives, and collaborative solution-building.

This comprehensive, full-time program unites participants from governmental bodies, think tanks, research institutions, civil society, and the private sector across Brazil, China, Europe, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and South Africa.

Scholarship Details

  • Participants in the MGG Academy are awarded a scholarship by the German Federal Government, covering living expenses, all MGG-related costs, and travel expenses within Germany and Europe. It also includes health, personal liability, and accident insurance during the training in Germany.
  • The scholarship ensures a sufficient standard of living in Germany but does not provide financial support for families or relatives, either during a visit to Germany or at home.

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective participants should:

  • Be nationals or permanent residents of one of the participating countries.
  • Obtain support from their employer (written support is required as part of the application).
  • Possess a university degree (minimum Bachelor).
  • Demonstrate a passion for global cooperation and sustainable development.
  • Commit to participating in an intensive, full-time program (8 hours per day, 40 weekly working hours).
  • Work in a partner institution of the MGG network or an institution interested in future cooperation.
  • Have a proficient command of the English language (equivalent to B2 level of the CEFR).
  • Be between 25 and 40 years old (consideration may be given to older applicants with longer periods of care, parental, or sick leave).
  • Possess at least three years of working experience (non-remunerated experience is also recognized).
  • Be culturally sensitive, open to teamwork, and adaptable to a variety of working methods.

Employers are requested to:

  • Grant employees a special leave of absence for the training period and relieve them of job-related tasks during the MGG Academy.
  • Cover the costs of the round trip to and from Germany.
  • Reach an agreement ensuring the living standards of the employee’s relatives in their home country.
  • Support employees in transferring newly acquired competencies to their jobs.
