This milestone makes Luno the first specialized crypto asset service provider in South Africa to obtain such a license, following the FSCA’s classification of crypto assets as financial products under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act of 2002.

Christo de Wit, Luno’s Country Manager for South Africa, expressed satisfaction with the license, emphasizing the company’s decade-long experience in the crypto sector.

He highlighted Luno’s commitment to compliance, safety, and security for its customers, which have been instrumental in the company’s growth trajectory.
