The live-action remake of Disney’s The Little mermaid will be making its way into theaters next year. But as the movie is on its journey into theaters, many people are confusing the actual star of the film, Grammy-nominated singer Halle Bailey with Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry.

Halle Bailey was cast as Ariel back in 2019. At 22 years of age she the half of a musical duo Chloe x Halle, alongside her sister. She also plays Skyler Forster in the sitcom Grown-ish.

Halle Berry of course on the other hand is a totally different actress. The said person who deleted their tweet isn’t alone in this. Wikipedia and online encyclopedia leads off entries of both women by noting ‘not to be confused with…’ and adding a link to the page of the other Halle Bailey.

Berry also has had to correct other people too such as with a 2021 tweet, where she told one confused fan, “wrong Halle lol. I can’t wait to see her too though!” she also has tweeted encouragement for her other almost-namesake, writing, “Can’t wait @HalleBailey.”

Berry and bailey have both weighed in with loving responses when a photo of them in similar gowns was shared by a fan. That being said, it means that they are members of a mutual admiration society.
