Google reportedly leaked the Pixel Fold ad with basketball star quite a little bit early. The YouTube video which has now been taken down contained a host of close-up shots of Google’s upcoming pixel fold device in action.
Google Pixel Fold Ad
Reported footage of the Pixel Fold has appeared in a YouTube ad just ahead of its anticipated announcement at Google I/O in the later parts of today. And just as reported by 9to5Google, the unlisted YouTube video features NBA as well as WNBA stars, the comedian Druski, and many close-up shots of the upcoming Pixel Fold in everyday use.
Dubbed “Google Pixel x NBA: The Greatest Watch Party,” the link was shared in a tweet that was posted by the official Google Pixel account late last night. It now seems that Google published the link quite prematurely as the tweet teasingly instructed readers to then “check back in tomorrow.” That being said, the tweet is also inclusive of a picture of MVP Joel Embiid clearly holding the Pixel Fold, so probably best to not think very hard about it.
Specs Revealed In the Leaked Video
And alongside showcasing the Pixel Fold from a host of angles, the video also reveals a couple of its capabilities. We got to see plenty of hinges (as well as bezel) directly in action, thus displaying the Fold closed, fully open, and then placed on a desk partially open at a 90-degree angle. A simulated video call that was featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo also shows just how the camera feed can seamlessly switch in between the internal and external displays.
The video however does not give us any information on the specifications of the Pixel Fold. Trusted leaker Roland Quandt, however, claims that the inner display of the device is a 7.6-inch (2208×1840, 379 ppi) OLED, and the outer display, on the other hand, is a 5.8-inch (2092×1080, 408 ppi) OLED.
The NBAs Relationship with Google
The NBA fairly has an established relationship with Google. In the previous year, the search giant created the Pixel Arena which is a virtual stadium where users can experience the NBA, and the 2023 NBA Playoffs on the other hand are “presented by Google Pixel.” Google also has collaborated with the basketball association on prior advertisements, having released a host of similar promotional videos for the Pixel 7 back in October.
Google I/O is set to kick off at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT. You should however know that the Pixel Fold has now been set to private on YouTube meaning that the as is no longer accessible.
How Many Pixels Is a Fold on Mobile
The size of a screen on different phone versions, laptops, tablets as well as monitors varies greatly. But you should know that it is whatever is on the screen without the user scrolling. And with that being said, the average fold usually is 1,000 pixels wide and 600 pixels tall.
