Are you currently working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree and conducting impactful research in the bioenergy field? If so, the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) invites you to take part in the GBEP Youth Award 2024.
The GBEP Youth Award seeks to acknowledge and highlight exceptional research carried out by students in the bioenergy sector, encompassing diverse areas such as environmental, social, and economic sustainability, technologies, supply chain and logistics, societal practices, policy and strategies, circular bioeconomy, and climate change.
Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) Youth Award – Benefit
This year, finalists will be given the chance to showcase their research and receive their award certificates at a dedicated session during the inaugural GBEP-YUNGA Bioenergy Youth Day. This event is set to be held on 17th June 2024 at the FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy as part of the 11th GBEP Bioenergy Week. Additionally, award winners will also have the opportunity to present their work at other significant international events hosted or co-hosted by GBEP throughout the year.
Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) Youth Award – Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must be enrolled at a recognized research institution (i.e., currently matriculated students).
- Applicants should be within the specified age limits at the time of application: 30 years old for bachelor and master’s students, and 35 years old for PhD students.
Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) Youth Award – Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be judged on the following based:
- Validity of results (25%)
- Quality and clarity in presenting ideas (25%)
- Level of innovation (25%)
- Relevance to the wider scientific/development community (25%)
Timeline
- Applications received after March 31, 2024
- will not be considered.
- Evaluation of applications will be conducted in April 2024 by a diverse global panel of impartial experts.
- Completion of the selection process and notification of successful candidates will be carried out on May 01, 2024.
- In June 2024, Profiles of selected applicants will be featured on the GBEP website and promoted through various related channels.
How To Apply For Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) Youth Award 2024
Candidates are required to fill out the application form and email it to the address provided on the official website, along with the following documents by 31 March 2024:
- A curriculum vitae
- Proof of enrollment as a student, including details of the research supervising institution
- A research poster providing a visual summary of the research context, methodology, results, conclusions, and its relevance to the wider research community.
- Ensure that posters are clear and legible when printed at A0 size (84.1 × 118.9 cm) and include a 10 cm blank white ribbon at the bottom. Evaluation of the posters will be based on the clarity of ideas presented.
