CERN OpenLab Summer Student Program Overview
Candidates of all nationalities are eligible to apply for the OpenLab summer student program. The program runs from June to August of 2024 for nine weeks.
Students enrolled in CERN Openlab will work on sophisticated IT projects and attend a series of IT courses designed just for them by CERN and other institute professionals.
Additionally, OpenLab participants will be able to attend the major lectures of the CERN Summer Student Program in 2024.
Benefits
CERN will offer you the following benefits as a participant:
- A nine-week contract of association to work on a cutting-edge IT project.
- A daily subsistence payment of 92 CHF (net of tax) to help with lodging and food expenses while in Geneva.
- At the conclusion of your stay, you will receive a travel allowance to assist with the expense of your return travel to Geneva.
- Full Health Insurance.
- Help in locating lodging close to or on the CERN campus.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the CERN OpenLab Summer Student Program 2024 in Switzerland, you must meet the requirements below:
- You have a solid computing background and are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- You will have finished at least six semesters by the summer of 2024.
- Prospective Candidates from all nationalities are welcome to apply.
- Throughout your time at CERN, you will continue to be enrolled as a student.
- You may also apply if you plan to graduate in May of 2024, during the European summer.
- Both French and English are languages you speak fluently. An English proficiency test is not required for CERN OpenLab Summer Student Program Participation.
