Forza Motorsport Will Not Be Featuring Split Screens and Others at Launch

Forza Motorsport will not be featuring split screens and others such as AI races or even spectate mode at launch. That said, if you are a gamer and you are not happy with this development, Turn 10 has now explained why some of these features will not be included in the game upon its release.

Forza Motorsport Split Screens at Launch

Forza Motorsport Split Screens at Launch

Turn 10 has now confirmed that Forza Motorsport will not be launching with three specific features, and in part due to the “heavy investment” of the graphics of the game.

During a much recent Forza Monthly broadcast, Chris Esaki, the creative director revealed that the team has reportedly decided to not add split-screen, AI competitors, as well as spectator mode on the release of Forza Motorsport (via Eurogamer).

When we are talking about spectator mode as well as AI races, Esaki has now explained that they will not be included in the feature Multiplayer due to the fact that they do not fit to the rules of the mode, thus saying “Having players come into a Feature Multiplayer event, and taking players slots, and then spectating, it’s not really the racing that we had intended.”

“Similarly, racing with AI in Feature Multiplayer, with all its potential impacts on your safety rating, also didn’t make a whole lot of sense to have.”

Legacy Features in the Previous Series Not Included

Split-screen as you should know in particular is yet another legacy feature that has been added and implemented in the series prior to this development, but it will however not be in the upcoming game upon its release, which is the main reason behind the limitations of the game’s graphics.

“And since we’re on the topic of some legacy features that aren’t in at launch,” Esaki stated, “our heavy investment in pushing our new graphical features and our complete overhaul of the rendering engine, unfortunately, made split-screen really difficult to implement, and it’s also not going to be in for launch.”

It is still very much not clear at this point in time whether Turn 10 intends to add these very features that are currently missing down the road. But with the reported usage of the word ‘for launch’ however, does definitely leave the door wide open.

Forza Motorsport Release Date and Availability

Forza Motorsport is set to be making an arrival on October 10 for Xbox Series X|S. Xbox One, PC, as well as Xbox Game Pass on the launch day. Microsoft has now confirmed that the game in question upon its release will be making an appearance along with Starfield at Gamescom 2023, but however, in an unfortunate turn of events, none of them will be available to play.

Is Forza Motorsport 8 Coming?

Just as mentioned already in the content of this post, Forza Motorsport 8 is coming. The game in question has a release date of October 10, 2023. The news of the release date was first revealed during the latest Xbox Games Showcase after only just having the vague release window of 2023 prior to the event. That said, it’s finally really great to have a solid date locked in.
