Dragon’s Doma 2 reportedly gets a release date as well as a new tricky class. Capcom recently with this one put on a 15-minute showcase showing the newest class known as the trickster, as well as a release date that is set for March in the coming year, 2024 to be precise.
Dragon’s Doma 2 Release Date
Capcom just a couple of weeks ago announced that it would be putting on a showcase for Dragon’s Dogma 2. The livestream in question just recently wrapped up, and in the process showing off roughly 15 minutes of new gameplay, information, a trailer, as well as a release date: March 22nd. The release date in question as you should know was not exactly the newest news. Just hours before the livestream started on November 28th, the Steam page of the game accidentally leaked that you would be able to dogma your dragons on March 21st.
The livestream in question also confirmed that the actual release date is a day later, with Dragon’s Dogma 2 reportedly sharing a release date with one of my most anticipated games of the coming year, Princess Peach: Showtime! (Interestingly, Steam has not yet even updated the page which still reveals March 21st.)
What You Should Know about Capcom’s Showcase
The showcase as you should know reportedly debuted a new class, known as the trickster. And from its name, the trickster sounds very much like your basic rogue class, but the trickster in question seems more like a necromancer with extra steps. Instead of making use of dead bodies to fuel an army of minions, the trickster makes use of a censer.
If you are confused about it, think if it is that you turned your favorite incense holder into a medieval flail and then conjured constructs from the smoke that will help to trick enemies into fighting each other. That in question is some inspired class design that really piques my interest in seeing many more of what Dragon’s Dogma 2 is all about.
Dragon’s Doma 2 Story
The story on the other hand is another breadcrumb that I am quite interested in gobbling up. There really is nothing particularly revolutionary about the story of DD2. But from the recently aired showcase, it seems very much like the plot will lean heavily on geopolitical intrigue, which is something that I really enjoy.
Will It Be the Breakout of the Year?
Overall, Dragon’s Dogma 2 as you should know does not quite seem like it will be the breakout hit of the coming year. But I am quite in the mood for a low-stakes, sword as well as board action game that I can diligently take my time with, and just hopefully Dragon’s Dogma 2 will scratch that very itch.
