Resident Evil 4 Remake Has a Release Date Sooner than we all expected. Capcom’s long-awaited “Resident Evil 4” Remake has been confirmed, and you actually could be playing much sooner than expected. The original was launched in 2005, following the story of the US Government Agent Leon S. Kennedy.

Kennedy’s search for the president’s daughter, that was kidnapped by a cult, took him to a remote Spanish village where he was faced with hordes of villages that have been affected by a mind parasite.

Right on its release, the “resident evil 4” introduced some innovations to the series. The changes brought to the series included an Over-the-shoulder action camera perspective, new controls, and a third-person view that replaced the “Camera in a corner of the room” viewpoint that has been used by the series up until then.

The third-person shooter was first created on the Nintendo Gamecube in January 2005, right before it was ported right on the PlayStation 2 in October of the same year. Over the years the game has been ported to several consoles including:

  • PlayStation 4
  • Xbox One
  • and the Meta Quest

The game received a higher definition release on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 era, but a complete overhaul has been expected for quite a while now.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Release Date

During the state of Play by Sony, capcom confirmed a “resident Evil 4” remake was going to be in production, and the date of the release a set for March 24, 2023. The date flashed right up on the screen, followed by a teaser trailer that did not reveal enough information. Despite being announced at Sony’s event, the remake would be cross-platform. Fans would get the chance to play the game on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and their PC. no exclusivity period was set, and all consoles would be receiving the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

In an announcement that was published to the PlayStation Blog, Capcom stated that it would “preserve the essence” of the original game, while at the same time, offering you “State-of-the-art quality for survival horror suitable for 2023.”

In a different post on its website, the Japanese company claims that the update is expected to include “truly next-gen visuals” along with “modernized gameplay, and a reimagined, deeper storyline. Enhanced PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of other games in the franchise, including “Resident Evil 2,” Resident Evil 3: Nemesis,” and “Resident Evil 7” were all announced earlier this year.
